'People-Centered Justice in COVID-19 Response & Recovery' with Pathfinders

Justice actors are in the front lines of pandemic response. Economic recovery requires resolving justice problems related to employment, bankruptcy and debts. This panel aimed to help justice leaders find innovative ways to 'meet the moment' and provide justice for all. The emphasis of this session was on prioritizing people-centered justice in both response and recovery plans to combat the short, medium and long-term effects of the pandemic.The session featured an international virtual panel of justice experts ranging from barristers to legal advisors; from professors to justice innovators. Panelists debated the responsibilities of international bodies and national bodies in COVID-19 response, and which actors get to shape the agenda to ensure peoples' needs and concerns are addressed amidst the pandemic.Watch the recording above to learn more about the central inequalities that exacerbate societal divisions highlighted in the session and listen for recommendations for future policy, research and practice on the topic.
