'Measuring Progress and Results of Transitional Justice' with ICTJ





This session addressed the types of data that can be realistically collected in fragile and conflict-affected settings where transitional justice processes are often implemented. Panelist and participants discussed appropriate indicators, how evidence could better inform policy options, and how measurement of transitional justice fits within the Sustainable Development Goals.The purpose of this session was to identify what is being measured in transitional justice processes, address why measuring transitional justice is challenging, identify global indicators and explore some recommendations for measuring progress and results. This session featured panelists Mateo Porciúncula (Development Practitioner, Researcher, and ICTJ’s Resident Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation Expert), Salif Nimaga (Peacebuilding Consultant), Ibtihel Abdellatif (Tunisian Researcher and Activist), Geoff Dancy (Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University) and Devota Nuwe (Head of Programs at Refugee Project, Uganda).
