This session sought to explore dynamics influence and power in collaboration, interactions and sets of relationships in the global peacebuilding system between different actors including multilateral organisations, bilateral donors, INGOs, national partners, local peacebuilders, communities, and others. Building on recent work by Conducive Space for Peace this session examines chains of influence and power in the global system of support to locally-led peacebuilding. The space specifically aims to reflect on key dilemmas of both inter-personal and organisational risk-taking and conceding and shifting of power throughout the system to better enable support to locally-led peacebuilding.
This session included panelists Sweta Velpillay (Senior Advisor at Conducive Space for Peace), Gay Rosenblum-Kumar (UN Representative for NonviolentPeaceforce and Peace Direct), and George Varughese (Senior Strategic Advisor for Niti Foundation and convenes its Strategic Advisory Group).
