The purpose of the session is to share the findings and recommendations from the report “Time to Decolonise Aid” and to expand the conversation on decolonization to truly consider how to meaningfully shift power.

Key arguments being made in the international aid sector include the embedded nature of structural racism within the aid system and the peacebuilding sector, the reproduction of power dynamics in peacebuilding and program & research designs rooted in Western beliefs, values and knowledge systems, and the need to shift power from international actors (such as INGOs) into the hands of local civil society and local peacebuilders.

Watch the recording above to hear recommendations for future policy, research and practice.

This session featured Shannon Paige (Policy Associate at Peace Direct).
